The Raw Denim Crucifix Cap
The cap is constructed from lightweight raw denim and built on a custom mold I developed after studying countless vintage ball caps from the 1930s and 1940s. The result is a medium-shallow unstructured profile fit, finished with a uniquely short, perfectly rounded brim, finished with contrast stitching, side embroidery, and custom hardware throughout.
Fit
The shape of the Crucifix mirrors the baseball caps of the 1930s and ’40s, with a few modern updates to refine the fit. The cap features a shallow, lightly structured profile and a short, fully curved brim, giving it plenty of character while allowing it to naturally mold to your head.
Additionally the panel height and slightly extended front panel preserve that distinct vintage shape.
Care
Because the Crucifix is constructed from a soft, unstructured raw denim, avoid crushing or crumpling it. Its relaxed shape relies on very little tension, so excessive compression may cause the crown to lose its intended form.
Story
Truth be told, this hat was never supposed to be made available to the public. It was originally something I designed for myself to wear throughout this journey—a reminder that the ordinary moments we so often overlook can create the most extraordinary impact when we choose to pursue and love people through the mundane, unnoticed parts of life.
When someone puts on this hat, I want it to remind them of the simplicity of being present: present with the people around us, present in both the suffering and the joy we all experience, and willing to welcome every emotion with open arms alongside those to our left and right.
The artwork features a Russian Brutalist-inspired line drawing of Jesus on the cross, paired with our wordmark. On the right side are the words pas de deux. In ballet, a pas de deux is the grand dance between two people—often the culmination of the entire performance. For me, it represents the act of creating with the Holy Spirit: a continual dance between surrender and participation.
